01 / The challengeWhat did Confidential — B2B software company need?
A B2B software company was deploying by hand from a single engineer's machine. Staging had drifted far enough from production that testing there proved very little, nobody could say with confidence what was running where, and the cloud bill had grown without anyone being able to attribute it to a workload.
02 / Our approachHow did we run the project?
We began with an audit: what exists, what it costs, and what would happen if any single instance were lost. Then we codified it. Every environment became a Terraform definition, so staging and production differ only in the variables passed to them. Pipelines were rewritten to run the same commands locally and in CI, which removed the class of failure where something works on a laptop and nowhere else.

03 / What we builtWhat did we build?
Deployments run through GitHub Actions with a preview environment created per pull request and destroyed on merge.
Containers are built once and promoted between environments rather than rebuilt per stage.
Monitoring covers the handful of signals that actually indicate a problem, wired to alerts that page an on-call engineer, with a runbook for each one.
The cost review identified specific idle and oversized resources with a named owner for each.

Built with Azure with Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes, deployed through GitHub Actions pipelines with Grafana monitoring.
